Harry Wood - Chief Executive Officer

Harry has extensive senior leadership experience in schools and academy trusts and has has a proven track record in school improvement.

Jenni Wyrill: Director of Teaching and Learning

Jenni has taken on a new role within the Trust which involves implementing our shared school improvement model. Working across all of our academies Jenni supports school improvement planning, quality assurance and teaching and learning support. Jenni is a highly regarded and experienced Specialist Leader of Education with a proven track record in improving teaching and learning across a number of maintained schools and academies within the Local Authority. Jenni is involved in the delivery of a number of professional development programmes through Tykes teaching school. Her particular areas of expertise include assessment, curriculum design and planning for progression.


Rachel Ward: Head Teacher

Rachel is an experienced and talented educational leader, having worked across both secondary and primary education. She has been a Specialist Leader of Education since January 2012 and has worked with a range of different schools and staff including primary, secondary and special schools. As an SLE, she has worked with senior leadership teams undertaking school improvement, building capacity within these schools so that they can become self-sustaining and continue to improve. Her work as an SLE in primary and secondary schools includes teaching and learning, designing and facilitating bespoke professional development programmes and coaching for leadership. She is also a GCSE History examiner.


Lisa Tabbner: Head Teacher

Lisa is an experienced educational leader with a specialism in Early Years. Having worked in a range of primary schools, Lisa has a track record of outstanding teaching and mentoring colleagues to improve practice. Lisa is currently Head Teacher at Summerfields Primary Academy but supports teaching and learning throughout the Trust.


Alex Steadman: Head Teacher

Alex has taught in a number of primary schools in Barnsley, Wakefield and Leeds holding leadership positions across a large academy trust. He has successfully worked with colleagues to develop consistent and robust policies around teaching, learning and assessment, subject leadership and academy expectations. Alex is currently Head of Academy at Carlton Primary Academy but supports  staff development opportunities around outstanding teaching and learning across the Trust.


Leanne Cook: Deputy Head Teacher

Leanne is an experienced Key Stage 2 teacher and Deputy Head at Parkside Primary Academy. She has a proven track record of outstanding classroom practice, and currently supports moderation, assessment and improvement in teaching and learning across the Trust


Alex Webb: Deputy Head Teacher

Alex is an experienced Key Stage 2 teacher and Deputy Head at Carlton Primary Academy.

Alex is a qualified Senco and has extensive experience in supporting children with additional needs.


Laura Wakefield: Assistant Head

Laura is an experienced teacher, having taught for over ten years in different schools, across two local authorities. She has led Key Stage Two for a number of years, mentoring NQT’s and RQT’s as well as supporting more experienced staff with their development. Laura is currently Assistant head of Academy and year 6 teacher at Summerfields Primary Academy.


Craig Marsh: Assistant Head

Craig joined the Trust in September 2016 having previously taught in an outstanding teaching school. He began his career in education as an HLTA before qualifying as a primary teacher. As an outstanding classroom practitioner he supports teaching and learning across the trust with particular skills in curriculum design.
